The Skin Section Model is a detailed, three‑dimensional educational model designed to support the teaching of human skin structure in school science lessons. Suitable for KS3 and above, this model provides a clear and engaging visual representation of the main layers and components of the skin.
Based on a section of skin from the head, the model clearly displays the three main layers of the skin: the epidermis, dermis, and subcutaneous layer. It includes accurately modelled hair follicles with sebaceous glands, sweat glands, sensory receptors, nerves, and blood vessels, enabling students to understand how each structure contributes to the skin’s functions.
The model is robust, easy to handle, and sized for effective classroom demonstration. Measuring approximately 33 × 25 × 6cm and weighing around 1.075kg, it provides an ideal balance of detail and durability for repeated educational use.
The Skin Section Model is ideal for secondary school biology lessons, helping students visualise structures that cannot be seen clearly using diagrams alone. It supports both teacher‑led explanations and independent student learning.
Accurate, clear, and visually engaging, the Skin Section Model is an essential teaching aid for helping students build a strong understanding of human skin structure and function.
