Young’s Modulus Apparatus – Vernier Type, 0–30 mm Scale

This Young’s Modulus Apparatus (Vernier Type) is a precision instrument designed for accurate measurement of the extension of wires during physics and materials science experiments. Featuring a 0–30 mm main scale and a movable Vernier readable to 0.1 mm, it provides exceptional accuracy when determining the Young’s modulus of metal wires.

The apparatus includes rigid scale plates, clamping bars with screws for securing the test and comparison wires, and integrated hooks for attaching tension weights and loading masses. A robust ceiling clamp, supplied with two large wood screws, allows secure mounting to an overhead beam, door frame, or any suitable fixed support. For added convenience, a 1.3 kg tension weight for the comparison wire is included, along with the necessary load masses and wires.

Key Features

  • 0–30 mm main scale with 0.1 mm Vernier precision
  • Secure wire clamping system with bars and screws
  • Hooks for tension and loading masses
  • Ceiling clamp with wood screws for safe overhead installation
  • Approx. 1.3 kg tension weight for the comparison wire
  • Includes load masses and wires for immediate classroom use
  • Durable, school‑laboratory‑grade construction

Ideal for School Science Lessons

This Young’s Modulus Apparatus is perfect for teaching students about elasticity, stress and strain, and material properties. In a physics lesson, students can conduct hands‑on experiments to measure wire extension under load, allowing them to calculate Young’s modulus with real data. The Vernier scale enhances precision, helping learners understand the importance of accurate measurement in scientific investigations. Its sturdy setup and included components make the apparatus classroom‑ready and ideal for repeated practical use.
