At the centre of the instrument is a large 170mm diameter circular scale, clearly divided from 0–360° in 1° increments. The collimator is mounted on a fixed pillar with careful axis adjustment. It features an objective lens with a 150mm focal length and a precision spiral focusing system. A unilaterally adjustable slit, 6mm long, ensures sharp spectral lines for accurate analysis. The telescope, mounted on a movable pillar, provides smooth movement, locking adjustment, and fine focusing via a spiral system. It incorporates a Ramsden eyepiece with cross‑wires, allowing accurate alignment and angular measurement.
