The wave generator is either controlled synchronously with the light flashes of the stroboscope unit, whereby the movement appears to be frozen, or alternatively it is run with a slight shift in frequency, whereby the waves appear to
move in slow motion. The wave patterns can be observed on the table top, the accompanying frosted glass plate or
possibly projected onto the wall.
