The Kartell Automatic Burette Rinser Unit is a high‑speed, efficient cleaning system designed for the safe rinsing of burettes and pipettes up to 600mm long. Constructed from robust polyethylene, this unit is ideal for laboratory environments where radioactive, caustic, or toxic substances may be used and thorough cleaning is essential.
Specially engineered to reduce the risk of breakage, the rinser uses protective baskets that buffer delicate glassware tips against a soft polyethylene base. Its automated syphon‑based rinsing process ensures contaminated water is effectively removed and replaced with fresh water, delivering reliable and repeatable cleaning results with minimal supervision.
With a tall, slim design, the Kartell rinser is suitable for busy school prep rooms and laboratories where space efficiency, safety, and performance are all key considerations.
Burettes or pipettes are first placed into a protective basket and soaked in detergent (typically for around 3 hours). The basket is then transferred to the rinser unit. Water enters through a spray nozzle positioned at the top rim, preventing back‑syphoning as the inlet is located safely above any contaminated water.
Once the water reaches the syphon point at the top of the unit, contaminated water drains away via the large‑diameter outlet at the base, before the unit automatically refills and repeats the cycle. A typical rinse cycle takes around 90 seconds, with low water pressure still providing effective cleaning.
For efficiency in busy labs, it is recommended to use multiple baskets or soaking jars so that one set of burettes can be soaking while another is being rinsed.
While primarily intended for science technicians and prep rooms, this automatic rinsing unit plays a vital role in supporting safe and effective KS3, GCSE, and A‑Level chemistry practical work by ensuring glassware is cleaned thoroughly and consistently.
Reliable, safe, and efficient, the Kartell Automatic Burette Rinser Unit is an essential piece of laboratory equipment for maintaining high standards of hygiene and safety in school science environments.
