Fehling’s Solution No. 1 is the copper(II) sulphate component of the classic Fehling’s test reagent, supplied ready‑prepared in a 500ml bottle for educational laboratory use. This solution is designed to be used alongside Fehling’s Solution No. 2 to carry out reliable qualitative tests for reducing sugars.
The product has a UN Number of 3082 and does not have a specific CAS number, as it is a formulated laboratory solution rather than a single pure substance. Clearly labelled and supplied ready to use, it eliminates preparation time while ensuring consistent results when used in school science investigations.
Fehling’s Solution No. 1 is widely used in GCSE and A Level biology and chemistry lessons, particularly when teaching about carbohydrates and qualitative chemical testing.
When used under appropriate supervision and in combination with Fehling’s Solution No. 2, this reagent provides clear visual results that help students understand key biochemical and chemical concepts.
Please note: This product is supplied only to educational establishments. Orders to private addresses cannot be accepted.
Customers must be logged in to an approved account before purchasing. Once logged in, the “Add to Basket” button will appear. Orders will only be shipped to verified school addresses.
