Thermochromic Sheet – 150 × 150 mm

This innovative thermochromic self‑adhesive sheet is printed with liquid crystal technology that changes colour when heated above 27 °C. The material shifts to a bright blue when activated, making it ideal for a wide range of practical and creative applications.

Designed for versatility, the sheet can be used in temperature indicators, safety warnings, interactive displays, promotional materials, and more. By attaching a small resistance wire or heat source to the back of the sheet, dramatic and immediate colour changes can be produced on the front surface.

Although supplied as a larger sheet (typically 450 × 300 mm), most applications require only small pieces—often as little as 25 × 25 mm—making it highly economical for classroom, laboratory or design‑based use.

Key Features

  • Thermochromic liquid crystal coating for dynamic colour change
  • Changes to bright blue above 27 °C
  • Self‑adhesive backing for easy mounting
  • Supplied as a large sheet (approx. 450 × 300 mm)
  • Ideal for cutting into smaller pieces for multiple projects
  • Perfect for demonstrations of heat transfer, temperature change and energy
  • Suitable for creative and engineering applications such as displays, indicators and wearables

Ideal for School Science Lessons

Perfect for KS3, GCSE and A‑Level science, this thermochromic sheet supports hands‑on investigations, including:

  • Exploring heat conduction, convection and radiation
  • Demonstrating temperature‑dependent material properties
  • Creating visual heat maps by applying warm objects or airflow
  • Investigating frictional heating when objects are rubbed across the surface
  • Developing student understanding of thermochromism and real‑world material design

Engaging, reusable and exceptionally versatile, the Thermochromic Sheet is an excellent classroom resource for demonstrating temperature‑related changes in an eye‑catching, interactive way.
