Demonstration Dynamo – Hand-Driven Generator & Motor Model

This versatile Demonstration Dynamo is an excellent teaching model for exploring the principles of electricity generation and energy conversion. Mounted on a sturdy base plate (approx. 200 × 125mm), the unit features a hand-driven pulley system that allows students to generate electrical energy through mechanical input.

A large 125mm drive pulley is connected to a smaller dynamo pulley via a rubber belt, creating a step-up ratio that clearly demonstrates how rotational speed affects electrical output. The generated electricity is delivered through a pair of standard 4mm sockets, while a built-in LED indicator provides an immediate visual confirmation of output.

In addition to its use as a generator, this model can also function as a motor when connected to a 6–8V DC power supply, making it a highly adaptable resource for demonstrating both directions of energy transfer.

Key Features

  • Hand-driven dynamo model for electricity generation
  • Mounted on a stable base plate (approx. 200 × 125mm)
  • 125mm pulley system with rubber belt for step-up ratio
  • Demonstrates mechanical to electrical energy conversion
  • 4mm socket outputs for easy circuit connection
  • Integrated LED indicator for visual output feedback
  • Can also operate as a motor (6–8V DC supply)
  • Durable and suitable for repeated classroom use

Ideal for School Science Lessons

This Demonstration Dynamo is perfect for KS3, GCSE, and A-Level physics lessons, helping students understand key concepts in electricity and energy transfer. Ideal for:

  • Demonstrating electromagnetic induction
  • Exploring energy conversion (mechanical to electrical and vice versa)
  • Investigating the effect of rotational speed on voltage output
  • Building and testing simple electrical circuits
  • Supporting hands-on STEM learning and experimentation

Interactive, durable, and highly visual, this Demonstration Dynamo is an invaluable resource for engaging and effective physics teaching.
