Copper(I) Oxide, also known as Cuprous Oxide, is supplied in a 250g UN‑approved container and manufactured to Laboratory Reagent (LR) grade. This red‑brown inorganic powder is widely used in educational chemistry laboratories due to its clearly defined composition, distinctive colour, and relevance to GCSE and A‑Level inorganic chemistry.
Identified by CAS Number: 1317‑39‑1 and UN Number: 3077, copper(I) oxide is a regulated inorganic substance and must be handled in accordance with appropriate laboratory safety procedures and COSHH risk assessments. It is particularly useful for demonstrating oxidation states of copper, redox chemistry, and the properties of metal oxides under controlled conditions.
Please note: this chemical is supplied exclusively to educational establishments. Customers must be logged in with an approved school or institutional account for the Add To Basket button to appear. Orders are shipped only to school addresses. Due to courier regulations, chemical products cannot be returned; statutory rights are not affected.
Copper(I) Oxide is well suited to GCSE and A‑Level chemistry lessons, particularly where students study transition metals, metal oxides, and redox reactions. All practical use should be teacher‑led and conducted under appropriate supervision.
Supplied specifically for education and offering clear, curriculum‑relevant results, Copper(I) Oxide LR Grade 250g is a reliable teaching reagent that helps students deepen their understanding of inorganic and redox chemistry while reinforcing best practice in laboratory safety.
