Zinc Carbonate, also referred to as Zinc Hydroxide Carbonate, is supplied in a 500g UN‑approved container and manufactured to Laboratory Reagent (LR) grade. This white to off‑white inorganic compound is widely used in educational chemistry laboratories for studying carbonates, zinc compounds, and thermal decomposition reactions.
Identified by CAS Number: 51839‑25‑9 and UN Number: 3077, zinc carbonate is a regulated substance and should be handled in accordance with appropriate laboratory safety procedures and COSHH risk assessments. It is sparingly soluble in water and decomposes on heating to form zinc oxide and carbon dioxide, making it ideal for demonstrating key inorganic chemistry principles.
Please note: this chemical is supplied exclusively to educational establishments. Customers must be logged in with an approved school or institutional account for the Add To Basket button to appear. Orders are shipped only to school addresses. Due to courier regulations, chemical products cannot be returned, though statutory rights remain unaffected.
Zinc Carbonate is well suited to GCSE and A‑Level chemistry lessons, particularly when studying metal carbonates, thermal decomposition, and zinc chemistry. All experimental use should be teacher‑led and carried out under appropriate supervision.
Reliable, clearly labelled, and supplied specifically for education, Zinc Carbonate LR Grade 500g is a valuable teaching reagent that supports key curriculum topics while reinforcing safe laboratory practice and responsible chemical handling.
