Magnetic stirrer bars are small, magnetised rods used to mix solutions inside flasks or beakers when paired with a magnetic stirrer plate. They work by rotating within the vessel as the external magnetic field turns, ensuring uniform mixing without direct contact from mechanical components. In laboratories and industrial process settings, these bars are used for reagent dissolution, buffer preparation, titrations, and cell culture agitation. Examples include PTFE‑coated bars, pivot‑ring bars, octagonal stir bars, cross‑shaped bars, and flea‑type bars for round‑bottom flasks.
