Lab incubators are temperature-controlled chambers used to grow and maintain microbiological cultures, mammalian cells, and other temperature-sensitive samples. They work by providing uniform heating—and in some models controlled CO₂ and humidity—using insulated enclosures, precise sensors, and airflow systems to ensure stable conditions. In laboratories, incubators support applications such as cell culture, microbial growth, stability testing, and protein expression. Types include standard dry incubators for general microbiology, CO₂ incubators for mammalian cell culture, refrigerated incubators for low-temperature studies, and shaking incubators for aerated culture growth.
