Photochromic Pigment – Magenta (3g)

This high‑quality Magenta Photochromic Pigment appears as a pale, off‑white powder under normal indoor lighting, but when exposed to sunlight or UV light it instantly transforms into a bright, vivid magenta. Once the UV source is removed, the pigment gradually returns to its pale colour, allowing repeated demonstrations and experiments.

When mixed with a suitable binder—such as an acrylic base—the pigment can be applied permanently to a wide range of surfaces including plastics, paper, card, fabrics and more. The intensity of the colour change depends on the concentration of pigment used: more dilute mixtures create a softer effect, while stronger mixtures produce deeper colour shifts. A 50:50 mix is recommended as a starting point for experimentation.

The pigment is supplied in a 3g plastic syringe, allowing easy, accurate dispensing while minimising waste and mess.
